General Note:
Kagamibuta netsuke is shaped like a manju, but with a metal disc serving as a lid to a shallow bowl, usually of ivory. The metal is usually decorated with a variety of metallurgical techniques.
General Note:
Benkei was a Japanese warrior monk (sōhei) who served Minamoto no Yoshitsune. He is commonly depicted as a man of great strength and loyalty, and a popular subject of Japanese folklore.
