Summary:
Talmadge Frasier interviewed by Keila Pena and (?) Santos at Turner Tech in Miami, Florida. This interview is part of the Turner Tech Oral History Archive, a collection of Turner Tech students' oral history interviews that grows every year. Each year, Turner Tech students utilize their technical skills learned in the school to capture local history and honor the community's pioneer citizens. Students interview, record, transcribe and reproduce the memories of Miami residents, with a focus on civil rights. Talmadge Frasier was born in New York City and moved to Miami, Florida in 1969. In this interview, he talks about his family background, his different feelings about living in NYC and Miami as an African American, his experience with segregation and discrimination in the south, changes made in 1960s and his view on the identity of African Americans.
