Abstract:
"Rev. E.V. Blackman came to Miami in 1896 and organized the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Henry Flagler donated land at the corner of First Street and Northeast First Avenue. The church later sold that property and built the White Temple, shown above, at the corner of Avenue B and Ninth Street. The White Temple was demolished to make room for the Wolfson Campus of Miami-Dade Community College." -- From "Miami in Vintage Postcard", by Patricia Kennedy, 2000.
