Abstract:
Letter, June 14, 1922, from McDougal to his sister (Mrs. R. D. DeFord) describing the trip he took across the Everglades on a tractor and on foot. Lists other persons on trip, though some not by full name, including: W. E. Brown, Erben Cook, Will Catlow, Hurford Kline, Dr. Groom, and Captain Tony, a Seminole Indian.
Abstract:
New York Herald Tribune newspaper clipping, May 17, 1925. Shows photograph of tractor used by McDougal when crossing the Everglades. Caption is incomplete, but begins "A Modern Juggernaut..." Penciled notation states that Judge McDougal is pictured in a white shirt, driving the tractor.
