The Miami Life collection holds issues of the tabloid newspaper from the 1920s to the late 1940s. The collection covers a wide variety of topics such as the Great Depression, anti-Semitism, Prohibition, immigration, race and gender relations. Not only does the newspaper offer a glimpse of life in the Jim Crow U.S. South, it also covered the experiences of the city's marginalized groups including people of color, immigrants, and women, among other groups. Due to the nature of the time period in when it was published, some of the language used may contain harmful or offensive statements that include racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia.
