Description

Rosa Lowinger's family uprooted from Havana and came to Miami Beach when she was 7 years old, starting over like so many Cuban families did. She attended the Hebrew Academy and talks about how important that school was to helping her find stability as a new immigrant. She eventually graduated from Miami Beach High and went on to study the art and art history. She is an art conservator and author. She recently curated an exhibit at The Wolfsonian on the famed Tropicana night club in Havana, based on a book she wrote in 2005, Tropicana Nights. She has written a great deal about the art and architecture of Cuba.
