Description

This first recording of the Stanley Whitman Oral History Interview (2000) captures Whitman’s reflections on his family’s Chicago roots, his early life in Miami Beach, and his father’s real estate ventures, including the development of Española Way. Whitman recounts his World War II naval service, postwar experiences, and early involvement in the incorporation of the Village of Bal Harbour. The interview provides insight into the social, economic, and cultural development of Miami from the 1920s through the 1960s.
