Ricky Edward Wiggins interviewed by Perry Lewis and Tiffany Timbers at Turner Tech in Miami, Florida. This interview is part of the Turner Tech Oral History Archive, a collection of Turner Tech students' oral history interviews that grows every year. Each year, Turner Tech students utilize their technical skills learned in the school to capture local history and honor the community's pioneer citizens. Students interview, record, transcribe and reproduce the memories of Miami residents, with a focus on civil rights. Ricky Edward Wiggins was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. In this interview, he talks about his family background, his feelings about growing up in an all-black section of Hallandal, his experience with racial issues in schools, his addmission to the University of Miami, and his counseling work with "I Have a Dream Program".
