Pasted inside the portfolio is an orange, white and green flag, hand-painted on a sheet of paper, with the seal of the City of Miami pasted in the center. The flag measures 11.5 x 17 cm. including a white border on the left side on which is written: Designed by Chas. L. Gmeinder, Jr. Attached below the flag is a letter dated July 18, 1932, and signed by Charles L. Gmeinder, Jr., urging its adoption.
Laid in are two letters written on the stationery of the Miami Woman's Club. One is addressed to Mr. Lee and is signed by Edna C. Stevens (Mrs. Thomas T. Stevens), Nov. 13, 1933. The other is addressed to Mr. L.L. Lee, City Manager, and is from five members of a committee and the club president. It is signed by Mrs. T.V. Moore, Chairman. Both letters are stamped for the Nov. 15, 1933, meeting of the City Commission.
