Clearing to plant sisal. Depicts man standing in prairie on edge of pinelands. no. X-768-4. -- 3. Prairie. no. X-768-7. -- 4. A good view after clearing & ready for sisal plants. Men clearing land. no. X-768-5. -- 5. Older sisal plants. no. X-768-11. -- 6. Two men standing in field of young sisal. no. X-768-12. -- 7. Mature sisal plant with bloom stalk. General Note:
The United States Sisal Trust (Miami, Fla.) cleared and planted these fields on the Perrine Grant (T58S R36E). Fiber for twine was made from the sisal leaves. The plantation failed.
