Scope and Content:
Photographic postcard of the Pendleton House, 718 Salt Pond Road (aka North Beach Road). Sitting on the house porch (l to r) Clement Knowles, his daughter Ruth and wife Libby (b. 6 Jan. 1870) Knowles. The back is signed by the homeowner and annotated "Clem's beach house". This postcard served as both a political statement ("...was a lifelong Republican, but contested Taft's nomination...") and advertisement for his cigar business ("He is also a cigar maker that makes cigars fit for Christmas"). A gift of Winifred Fryzel.
