Scope and Content:
A series of photos showing how the Green Turtle is caught and shipped to the Turtle Kraals in Key West. The sea turtle industry began in Key West in the mid-19th century and continued into the early 1970s when diminished sea turtle populations forced its closure. Courtesy of the Key West Art & Historical Society.
