Abstract:
A postcard announcing the Rededication Ceremony of the Biscayne House of Refuge at 72nd & Collins Avenue. The House of Refuge was constructed in 1876 through an executive order from President Ulysses S. Grant to save survivors of shipwrecks from the perils of the desolate shore. The City of Miami Beach and the United States Coast Guard rededicated the site on November 29, 2005. ( en )
