Abstract:
Circa 1930’s– Newspaper article titled Miamiana: 1 showing a view across Biscayne Bay, including a sandy version of Bayfront Park, complete with a map of the United States outlined with what must have been coconuts. 1920’s B&W photos in Miami by the Sea brochure, The Land of Palms and Sunshine, include Salt Water Pools and Pavillion on the Ocean, Miami Beach Baths, Midwinter Surf Bathing, Atlantic Ocean Miami Beach Baths, Point View on Bay Biscayne where the Miami River flows into Biscayne Bay, Royal Palm Hotel, Miami, Tenth Annual Convention, Atlantic Deeper Water Association, Miami, November 1917, and Tea Dansant in the Royal Palm Hotel Gardens. Brochure is outlined with hand painted palm trees. 1904-1910 B&W Photograph of The Halcyon Hotel in Miami, Mrs. March first owned the hotel, Tom Peters brought her interest and finished Hotel Mark Newman.
