Notes

General Note:
LAKE PANCOAST on Miami Beach was named after one or the early settlers on Miami Beach. A canal, called Collins Canal connects Lake Pancoast with Biscayne Bay, and was dug originally to accommodate barges loaded with produce, that had been grown on Miami Beach, to be taken to market over In Miami on the mainland. These winter vegetables brought a high price from the visitors that were already by then flocking to Miami In great numbers, and It can be said that this was a forerunner to the great supply of winter produce that Is now grown In South Florida.
