Abstract:
1940 Black and white (3 booklets) The Miracle of Miami Beach – The Facts About the Early Days by J. N. Lummus, Pioneer Developer and First Mayor, copyrighted 1940 – 1944- 1952. Pg 25, shows the picture of a building with the following caption: “Lummus Building, 1914, Ocean Drive and Biscayne Street, where Miami Beach was incorporated March 26, 1915. All Council meetings were held in my building from 1915 to 1918. Pg. 34 refers to Resolution No. 183, whereas Lummus Park is named after Honorable J. J. Lummus in commemoration of one of the city’s greatest benefactors, adopted the 27th day of July, A.D. 1921.
