Portrait of Jay Dermer, a New York trial lawyer who moved to Miami Beach and served four years as Commissioner before defeating Elliot Roosevelt in his bid to be mayor in 1967. He was reelected to a second term in 1969 serving until 1971. He served as Mayor of Miami Beach, 1967-1969 and 1969-1971.
