Garth C. Reeves and other guests sit at tables at an event at Virginia Key Beach Park. Mr. Reeves is the publisher emeritus of the Miami Times, the oldest and largest black-owned newspaper in the southeastern United States. Reeves worked at the Times for over five decades as a columnist, editor, and publisher, and was the first African-American to serve on several local boards. ( en )
