General Note:
Plans, sections, and elevations of Howitzer embrasures in the flanks of the bastions on the lower tier. Scale one foot to one-half inch. Notations stating that the details of the iron work, of the bolts and catch for the shutters, and of the mode of attaching marginal plates, are similar to those for the gun embrasures. Copy sent to Captain Woodbury at Fort Jefferson with a letter dated October 1856.
