Notes

Scope and Content:
Narration: Balboa Plaza is a grassy street median at the intersection of Coral Way, South Greenway Drive, DeSoto Boulevard and Anderson Road. Designed by George Merrick's uncle, Denman Fink, and landscape architect Frank Button, the site includes a walled fountain that spouts water into a semi circular basin. The decorative limestone structure has end piers with lanterns. This plaza is named for the Spanish conquistador Vasco Núñez de Balboa.
