Abstract:
A man holds a model train of the Coral Gables Rapid Transit Corporation. The Corporation was founded in 1925 by George Merrick, who planned and built the city of Coral Gables. The railway went into service on April 30th, 1925 and consisted of five streetcars that travelled from Miami Beach through downtown Miami and along Coral Way. A high-speed train connected Coral Gables to the City of Miami, featuring ten luxurious, pink passenger cars.
