Notes

Abstract:
This interview recounts the harrowing journey of an anonymous individual who, as a child, was smuggled from Haiti to the United States. The interviewee describes being separated from family, enduring multiple relocations, and facing significant challenges during the irregular migration process. Despite the traumatic experience, including being hidden under a house and detained by authorities, the individual was eventually reunited with their biological parents in the U.S. The narrative also touches upon the broader context of child smuggling and the challenges of adjusting to life in a new country after such an ordeal.
