Abstract:
Jerome (Jerry) Cohen was born in New York in 1928 and moved to Miami in his youth, where he met his wife of 72 years, Rita. Following his graduation from the University of Miami, he worked for many years in real estate and development, and is a noted philanthropist that has supported Miami institutions like the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is the grandfather of well-known Miami-based filmmaker Billy Corben.
