Notes
Abstract:
Jamaal L. Starks' oral history interview sheds light on his life as a gay man living with HIV. He shares his journey from the moment of his HIV diagnosis at 20 years old, reflecting on the challenges and transformations he faced. Starks also speaks about the impact of HIV/AIDS on his life, marked by the loss of two cousins to the disease, which introduced him to the realities of HIV/AIDS from a young age. His narrative candidly explores trust, relationships, and resilience in the face of a life-changing diagnosis.
