Notes

General Note:
The site of what is now known as Venetian Pool was once a limestone quarry from which much of the oolitic limestone was used in building structures found throughout Coral Gables. In 1924, Denman Fink designed the pool with an architectural flavor reminiscent of Venice, Italy. The pool includes features such as grottos, waterfalls, a bridge and caves for swimmers to explore. Gardens, a sandy beach area, and a casino structure with loggias and open patios surround the pool. The water is drained from the pool and re-filled from an underground aquifer. The Venetian Pool is located at 2701 De Soto Boulevard near the historic De Soto Fountain on Granada Boulevard.
